OCTT Wins Television Production Awards

(Washington, DC) Mayor Anthony A. Williams announced today that the District of Columbia's Office of Cable Television and Telecommunications (OCTT) has received several television production awards in two competitions. OCTT received two awards of distinction in the 2004 Videographer Awards Competition. The Videographer Awards is an international awards program directed by communications professionals to honor excellence in video production. The competition honored the following OCTT City Cable 16 programs:

"InStyle Washington: Music Makers"
Show Airs on City Cable 16: Monday at 12 am, 12:30 pm; Tuesday at 8:30 pm; Thursday at 12 am, 9 pm; and Saturday at 9 pm

"City Line: Sickle Cell"
Show Airs on City Cable 16: Monday at 8:30 pm; Tuesday at 12 am; and Wednesday at 9:30 pm

In addition, OCTT won two categories in the 2004 Hometown Video Festival presented by the Alliance for Community Media. The Hometown Video Festival honors and promotes community media and local cable programs that are first distributed on public, educational, and government access cable television channels. The festival honored the following OCTT City Cable 16 programs:

"Remembering U" (Category: Local Performances)
"Your DC Today: 2003 Fed Cup" (Category: Sports Entertainment)

"Congratulations to the OCTT staff for being honored by the television industry for their top quality television production," said Mayor Williams.
