DC Office of Cable Television
and Telecommunications Wins Government Programming Awards
(Washington, DC) Mayor Anthony A. Williams announced today that
the District of Columbia's Office of Cable Television and Telecommunications
(OCTT) has received top honors for its municipal television programming.
Two programs produced by the District's Office of Cable Television
and Telecommunications (OCTT) and aired on City Cable Channel 16
placed first in their respective categories at the 19th Annual Government
Programming Awards. The winners of the awards, hosted by the National
Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA),
were announced on September 17, 2004 in San Francisco, California.
OCTT's productions of "WDC Boxing Open" and "Capital
Cinema" placed first in the visual arts and community awareness
programming award categories, respectively. In addition, the District's
City Cable 16 received an award in NATOA's most prestigious award
category, the overall Excellence in Government Programming award
for large municipalities.
Furthermore, the District's City Cable 13 and 16 received the following
awards in several other categories:

NATOA's Annual Government Programming
Awards recognize excellence in broadcast, cable, multimedia and
electronic programming developed by local government agencies. NATOA
received nearly one thousand entries from municipalities across
the country for awards in sixty-three categories.
Congratulations to the OCTT staff for being honored by the television
industry for their top quality television production.
