(Washington, DC) The District of Columbia's Office of Cable Television
& Telecommunications (OCTT) received two Cable Access Beacon
Awards from the Cable Access Guild (CAG) for superior television
programming in CAG's annual nation-wide competition. Two programs
produced by OCTT, and aired on City Cable 16, were honored. Capital
Cinema, produced by Ferman Patterson, was awarded the first place
Cable Access Beacon Award for Best Magazine Show. Reporters Roundtable,
produced by Tamika Felder, was awarded the first place Cable Access
Beacon Award for Best Talk Show. The winners were announced on January

CAG's Cable Access Beacon Award was created for the purpose of
recognizing both individual and agency-wide achievement in the areas
of government communication and access television operations. The
award gives winners the recognition that the work they are producing
is outstanding and highly-regarded by their peers. The Cable Access
Beacon Award is given to those entries whose communication effectiveness
and production quality evidences them to be the best in the industry.
OCTT is the District Government Agency that manages the District's
Government Access Channel's City Cable 16 and City Cable 13. The
mission of City Cable 16 is to provide information regarding the
