Office of Cable Television to Conduct Two Public Input Meetings

Will Compile Info on Future Cable Television Local Programming Needs

Washington, DC - The District of Columbia Office of Cable Television (OCT) will be conducting two (2) public input meetings on September 7 and 8 to allow District residents an opportunity to comment on desired future cable television public, educational, and governmental (PEG) access programming services as part of the franchise renewal process with District cable television provider RCN. The September 7 meeting will take place at the Hattie Holmes Senior Wellness Center located at 324 Kennedy Street NW from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The September 8 meeting will take place at McKinley Technology High School Amphitheater- Room 150 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. McKinley Technology High School is located at 151 T Street NE in Ward 5.

The public will be allowed to offer brief opinions and views on future needs for PEG access programming and information. Attendees wishing to address the meeting will be asked to sign in when arriving, and will then be able to speak for up to three (3) minutes during the meeting. The input gathered from these public meetings will assist OCT in determining the future PEG access related needs and interests for the community within a new RCN cable television franchise agreement.
