of Cable Television to be Off-Air for Scheduled Maintenance
Washington, DC
- The District of Columbia Office of Cable Television's (OCT) cable access channels
TV-13, TV-16 and the District Knowledge Network (DKN) will be temporarily off
the air on Saturday, July 31, 2010, from 6am - 6pm. During that time the video-on-demand
and video-streaming services on the OCT website will also be unavailable. The
scheduled outage is required in order to perform preventive maintenance on electrical
switchgear, switchboards and electrical equipment throughout the Intelsat campus
located on Tilden Street, NW, site of the OCT facility. This maintenance work
and testing are essential to ensure the safe and proper operation of the power
systems which support OCT mission critical business systems.
OCT
apologizes to its viewers for any inconvenience the outage may cause. Transmission
is expected to be back at full power by noon on Sunday, August 1, 2010.
