Office of Cable Television to be Off-Air for Scheduled Maintenance

Washington, DC - The District of Columbia Office of Cable Television's (OCT) cable access channels TV-13, TV-16 and the District Knowledge Network (DKN) will be temporarily off the air on Saturday, July 31, 2010, from 6am - 6pm. During that time the video-on-demand and video-streaming services on the OCT website will also be unavailable.

The scheduled outage is required in order to perform preventive maintenance on electrical switchgear, switchboards and electrical equipment throughout the Intelsat campus located on Tilden Street, NW, site of the OCT facility. This maintenance work and testing are essential to ensure the safe and proper operation of the power systems which support OCT mission critical business systems.

OCT apologizes to its viewers for any inconvenience the outage may cause. Transmission is expected to be back at full power by noon on Sunday, August 1, 2010.
