DC Emancipation Day Great Debate to Premier on CENTRIC
WHAT/WHO: Taped for television by the
D.C. Office of Cable Television (OCT) and the CENTRIC cable television
channel on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Historic Lincoln Theatre
- the DC Emancipation Day 150th Anniversary Great Debate
addressed key matters affecting African Americans today. The economy,
unemployment, health care, education and the upcoming Presidential
election were all examined in the two hour debate. Panelists included
minister/civil rights activist/radio & television host Reverend
Al Sharpton; pastor/television political analyst Joseph Watkins;
President at Bennett College/Economist/Author/Entrepreneur Dr.
Julianne Malveaux; and Georgetown University professor/author
Michael Eric Dyson. BET News' TJ Holmes moderated
the Great Debate.

The DC Office of Cable Television
(OCT) is the District Government Agency responsible for regulating
cable television in the District, as well as the administration
of the District's Government Access Channels TV-13, DCN and the

public, educational and government (PEG) channels and other forms
of content outlets. The award winning content provides resourceful
information on government activity, education, current events, history
