Programming Division

The Programming Division is responsible for providing 24-hour programming on TV-13 and DCN. Programs provided include press conference coverage, profiles and public service announcements for the Executive Offices of the Mayor, the District of Columbia City Council, and many other District of Columbia agencies.

AUDIO VISUAL PRODUCTION
The purpose of the Audio visual production is to convey news and public information to District residents through the use of recorded sound, narration, and music as accompaniments to video-disk masters, multi-screen programs, automatic slide shows, museums-like exhibits, or scenic and historic sites.

PRODUCTION
The producer serves as the overall manager for a video production and is responsible for most of the administration and logistical details. They consult with clients to discuss the general concept, objectives, and target audiences of the program. Develop production schedule, approve work of scriptwriters and production sets; produce props, equipment, select and arrange site location for on-location shooting.

CAMERA PHOTOGRAPHY
The purpose of this function is to operate 35mm cameras and video camcorders to move specialized equipment used primarily by professional photographers, such as medium and large format cameras, studio-type television or motion picture cameras.

VIDEO EDITOR
Editors are responsible for all of the post-production process associated with prerecorded television programs and motion pictures such as assembling, adjusting, and enhancing the audio and visual elements to produce a finished production. In television this is accomplished electronically by arranging videotape segments in the desired sequences and overlaying the sound track and other visual effects.
