
ACCESS FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED
If you are a deaf or hard of hearing (hearing impaired) viewer of this website, you or your representative may request and receive a captioned video or transcript of video programs cablecast on the District of Columbia’s government channels and uploaded on the District of Columbia’s website http://www.oct.dc.gov.
To receive access to a government programming that includes accommodations
for the hearing impaired, please contact Ms. Karen Tolson, Director
of Programming, by first-class mail, facsimile, or electronic mail.
In your request, please provide the title of the program, the channel
on which it was cablecast (DCC or DCN), and the date it was cablecast
(if available). Also include your name and contact information.

Your request will be processed and fulfilled within fourteen (14) business days from the date the Office of Cable Television (OCT) receives your request. Depending on the nature of the program requested, you will receive at least one of the following:
- A DVD copy of the requested program that includes captioning or subtitles to describe the audio portion of the video as it occurs (“properly captioned”);
- A written transcript of the audio content of the requested program; or
- A hyperlink (“link”) to the requested program after OCT has properly captioned the requested program and uploaded the requested program on http://www.oct.dc.gov.
